Are You Making These Mistakes With Your Blog On Twitter?

Do you own the blog? And do you have a Twitter account? Are you using your Twitter account to drive traffic to your blog? If you can’t say yes to the latter of these questions then you are making a serious mistake. In this article, I’ll tell you why not using Twitter to drive traffic to your blog is a big mistake.

Let’s dive into it.

1. Not driving traffic from your Twitter account to their blog.
So if you’re not using your Twitter account to drive traffic to your blog you are making a mistake. Twitter is currently the hottest social media on the Internet and volumes of traffic it gets are obscene. If you add, to that the fact, that Twitter works as well as it does with blogs, not using it to drive traffic is probably the biggest mistake you’re making right now.

The first thing you need to do to correct this mistake is to settle on a Twitter traffic strategy. Below, I’ll outline some ways not to go about doing that. And of course tell you what you should do.

2. Getting a non-targeted following.
When people realize that they should be driving traffic to the blog from Twitter. They start amassing huge following. Most of these followers are pretty much random followersmany random followers outside their few niche.niches. Let me tell you right now, that is a serious mistake.

What you should do instead, is to start following people who are already in your niche. You see, most people choose to follow those who choose to follow them. That’s the kind of reciprocity, you get on Twitter. As a blogger that is something you really need to take advantage of right now.

3. Not taking part in the community.
That’s not enough though.Problematic sentence structure If you think Twitter is just a marketing tool, and only take part in the discussions whenever you have something marketing related to saysaying you are not going to succeed, you will fail! More than anything. Twitter is a community, an online community, and to reap any rewards from this community. You need to be an active member.

Those were some of the basic mistakes you could easily make. Now it’s time to talk about some of the more practical mistakes that people tend to make.

4. Failing to show the link to your blog.
A simple mistake a lot of people are makingmakings is simply not showing the link to their blog on their profile page on Twitter. That’s not just a mistake, it’s plain stupid. This is probably the most obvious place of all on Twitter to display your link, not only that! Your profile page is actually indexed in the search engines, which means that this link will rank towards your SeoAdd as nameMore… efforts. So please, please do that.

While you’re at it, if you’re considering getting a custom background for your Twitter page. Make sure that it displays your domain name. People might not be able to click it, but you’d be surprised how many people are actually willing to type in URLs.

5. Failing to be helpful on Twitter.
Remember how we talked about, how Twitter is a community? In a community of people tend to be helpful towards each other. So that’s what you’ve got to be Twitter. Failing to be helpful is probably the biggest mistake in any attempt to drive traffic from Twitter.

Make sure that entry link you post on Twitter leads to a page that contains valuable information for your followers.

These are some of the most common mistakes made by people on Twitter. This is not just for bloggers, but since blogging and Twitter works so well together. It’s imperative that you do not make these mistakes.
