Ugyl websites may be able to sell but pretty websites make more money. I ran 2 identical businesses on ebay for one year. The sold exactly the same products at exactly the same time - the only difference was the "attactiveness" of the listing. I found that "ugly" websites made, on average, nearly 20% less money than their more "attractive" counterparts. The moral - you may be able to make money with an ugly website but you would make more money if you make it better!
